WELCOME!

Bedding

Chins love somewhere cosy to sleep/nap. There's many different types of beds you can buy for chinchillas. I have a wooden bed box for them and also a hammock which are available from most pet stores or online,I have both these in the cages with them to give them the option to choose. I also put some saw dust in the bed box to help make it more comfortable for them.

Cages

Chinchillas are very active animals and require a large cage. The larger the better and they would benefit and be happier with multi level flooring or wooden ledges.

If you have anymore questions on chins please feel free to contact me.

I am a small hobby breeder located in Renfrewshire, Scotland . I only have a small number of chinchillas at the moment and everyone of them get the love and attention they deserve. My chinchillas are well handled and well cared for, each gets out there cages for exercise regularly. They love being petted and love being rubbed/scratched under there chin. Each of our chinchillas have large cages and lots of toys so that even when they are not out and about they still have plenty of room to move and lots of things to chew and plenty of places to hide. We do NOT breed chins until they are at least 9/12 months old depending on their size. All kits/babies that are born with us are handled everyday from birth and everyone so far has made a great pet. If we currently have no kits/babies available please check back later for new updates to our list or mail us and ask to be put on a waiting list and i will get back to you as soon as we have what you'r looking for.
There’s much more to come!

Before even considering a chinchilla as a pet make sure you read up on them as much as possible!

I HAVE GIVEN A LITTlE BIT OF INFO ABOUT CHINCHILLAS BELOW.
Exercising
A chinchilla is a crepuscular (most active around dawn and dusk)  rodent that require extensive exercise.  Chinchillas should have an opportunity to exercise every day. if you can't let them out everyday as some people don't have the time. I would suggest a large cage with a wheel so they can still run about and exercise.

Food/drink

Chinchillas basic diet consists of chinchilla nuggets/pellets, i personally would avoid coarse mixes such as (charlie chinchilla, etc) as the chinchilla only eats the treats that are mixed into it and leaves the good/nutritious bits. There diet also consists of hay, I would recommend Timothy hay.
